When Mother Teresa left the convent she devote herself to working among the poorest of the poor in the slums of Calcutta. Mother Teresa opened "The Missionaries of Charity" in 1950. Her task was to love and care for those persons nobody was prepared to look after. Mother Teresa opened organizations soley designed for helping other people. The poorest of the poor were helped, and relief work to take care of the shut-ins, alcoholics, homeless, and AIDS sufferers.
Mother Teresa was a peacemaker, an angel, and a humatarian. Mother Teresa is a legend. Throughtout her life she opened charaties and missionaries in Calcutta, Rome, Tanzania, and Australia, and New York. Mother Teresa made tireless efforts to claim world peace. She established homes for aids victims, and comforted the poor, the dying, and the unwanted.
As a young child, she became interested in missionaries and helping the needy through her local perish. At 17 she became a nun and joined the irish order, the Sisters of Loretto. While teaching at St. Mary's High School Mother Teresa contracted tuberculosis. She felt it was a sign to leave the convent and persue to work and help the poor. Mother Teresa knew that she wanted to help people at a very young age. She took the risks of getting a disease from the cities and people she was devoted to, but none of that mattered to her. Helping people was her calling, something she intended to do for the rest of her life.
So many things would not be here today if it wasn't for Mother Teresa and her efforts towards peace. The many homes and missionaries she has established throughout the world have done nothing but benefit other people and the societies they live in. Mother Teresa set the example of kindness.
